Why GrassFed CrossFit?

The best answer to this question involves you making a visit to our gym. Observe or participate in a free workout and talk to our members about their experience. This is nothing like a conventional gym experience. We utilize compound dynamic movements promoting higher levels of functional fitness. You will receive personal instruction in a group setting. Whether your goal is to lose fat, gain lean muscle, become a dominant athlete, or avoid the degenerative diseases of aging, GrassFed CrossFit is the solution for you. I have never worked out before. Is CrossFit appropriate for me?

YES! CrossFit is appropriate for every level of athleticism. Our Long Island CrossFit trainers will scale the workouts and fit them for each individual while still preserving the movement patterns and desired outcome of each exercise. We have transformed lives in every demographic from professional athletes to sedentary senior citizens whom all seek higher levels of functional fitness.

What can I expect during a CrossFit workout?

Each session begins with a 10 minute dynamic warm up. The trainer will then introduce and review the movements which will be used during the workout. The movements encompass a variety of calisthenics, gymnastics, power lifting, Olympic lifting, kettle bells, medicine balls, jump rope, running, and rowing to be performed in high intensity interval combinations. The workout itself will last anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes depending on the movements and metabolic pathways we are targeting. Check our Long Island CrossFit training program class details

Will I get bulky from CrossFit? (females)

No. The physiological and hormonal female response of performing functional movement at high intensity will not allow for bulkiness. You will become lean, toned, strong, and fit with the most aesthetically pleasing body proportions. The only way for a female to become unattractively bulky is to either take steroids or have a horrible diet. Fortunately you will be doing neither of those as a member of our gym. What is the significance of the GrassFed CrossFit logo?

Our logo is an Auroch, the ancestor of domestic cattle. The species went extinct only 400 years ago so we find various descriptions of the animal in ancient text. Julius Caesar wrote “Their strength and speed are extraordinary; they spare neither man nor wild beast which they have espied”. The Auroch provides a reminder to the origins of human fitness; survival. For hundreds of thousands of years we did not have the convenience of purchasing prepackaged meat on grocery store shelves. The animals were not always docile puppets lacking resistance to slaughter. If you were not in peak physical condition you would be killed by the beasts you were hunting and your family would starve. Though we no longer live in these conditions we still obtain the neurological rewards of achieving elite fitness. It feels good to be fit. The discipline to continuously exert yourself in our gym will not only result in the athletic competency for any physical challenge but also the mental fortitude to succeed in any life situation.
